There are five States that contain no point higher than 1000 ft. msl?ÿ Another ten are still lower than a half mile above sea level.
Colorado is the highest State, on average, but it's lowest point is where the Arikaree River flows into Kansas.?ÿ Note the highest and lowest points in California are not very far apart compared to most States.

Georgia's highest point is Brasstown Bald at 4784 feet so we're just a few hundred feet from being a mile high.?ÿ Of course we have a seacoast so that would be our lowest point.?ÿ As an aside, the Appalachian Trail passes the foot of Brasstown Bald within a couple of days walk from it's southernmost point.

Most low spots are oceans or rivers.?ÿ In at least one State the low spot does not involve water.
The highest point in CONUS (Mt. Whitney) and lowest in CONUS (Badwater Basin Death Valley) are in the same county - Inyo. They are less than 100 miles apart.

That link is great!.?ÿ If one scrolls down a bit, there is the option to go to the next such story.?ÿ I've gone through about 50 of them and the vast majority are quite interesting.
Warning.?ÿ There must be an end somewhere, but I've not found it yet.
