starnet- combining total station measurements and gps control

Any suggestions,work format samples,tips would be helpful onn how to adjust totl station measurements with gps control. thanks

The key is to enter all measurements into whatever program you are using with reasonable estimates of the standard errors; centering, distances, angles, and GNSS coordinates.?ÿ The LS program will combine them accordingly.

When you say "GPS Control" what exactly do you mean? Points with geodetic lat/long?ÿ to hold, or actual GPS vectors from such control points??ÿ

gps points to hold for now, vectors maybe latter. What happens iif I have mutiple ngs sheets for the same point, cna they be evaulated together? How?

That is certainly not a problem. But what I'm asking is what sort of data you have to feed in at the beginning.

You need the StarNet Pro version to combine GPS and Terrestrial. Very generally, you will have a raw data file for your GPS vectors, and a raw data file for your terrestrial measurements. You will use the data converters in StarNet to convert them from the native format of your dc to StarNet format.?ÿ There are separate converters for terrestrial measurements and GPS measurements .?ÿ It is possible to have both terrestrial and GPS measurements in the same raw data file, but you will have to run the Terrrestrial data converters and then the GPS data converter on such a file to extract the 2 data types.?ÿ ?ÿ?ÿ

Important to note that when you?ÿ tie a point you want included in the adjustment you should use the same point number.?ÿ ?ÿWhenever you tie PT#5 you number the tie "5". That's how the software knows that measurements are to the same point. This seems very simple, but everyone I've ever taught this has the greatest difficulty getting past the concept.?ÿ ?ÿ

Somewhere in your data files you will need to define at least one, and frequently two or more, control points.

Just holding known geodetic points isn't really combining GPS and terrestrial. It is performing an adjustment of terrestrial data on the state plane grid.  Set the software to your preferred state plane zone in the Project /  Options dialogue. Convert your data to Starnet format using the supplied converter. Add your control points as fixed points to the data file (later you can try giving your control points a reasonable standard error value instead of fixing them in place) . Click on "Run Adjustment".
