bought a set of 1/8" stamps at harbor freight. $9.99. So far so good. however there is no index mark that let you know that you have it correctly oriented. Probably line them all up when i get a minute and and strike a chisel mark in the middle of the bottom - thump is on the mark- stamp is right side up. Also- cheap plastic box- undivided. It will need to be replaced....
We have a set that wound up with a dollop of fingernail polish on one side. Never tried to smack one with a chisel, though...I bet they're pretty hard steel.
It did come with a wooden case but somehow the top half has gotten misplaced...:-(

Yeah, please post "BEFORE" and "AFTER" photos of the chisel. :>
I concur that a chisel probably isn't the best tool for the job -- not only might it be hell on the chisel, but it'd create a stress riser in the die that might lead to cracking or breakage over time. I'd opt for an abrasive wheel in a die grinder, or maybe the edge of a conventional grinding wheel.

Yeah, but if Mark has some fingernail polish in his truck, wouldn't that be easier?
