I made a spiral spreadsheet to gather everything I had onto one. Well that and my PacSoft spiral button has gone dark ever since Windows 7, the rest of PacSoft works fine, just no spirals. Please feel free to pick it apart or tell me if I screwed something up. This is for highway definition. Norm's spiral sheet

Credit is due where credit is due. I was going to make it far simpler, but, he had some of the formulas that I had not seen before for points I never knew I needed. I was able to add a lot of cross check information because of him. I just finished using it for what I needed and I found this extraneous information very handy in verifying both the spreadsheet and my calcs. Next time I have to deal with a railroad, I will tweak it and post the changes, but, for now I don't care to look at it.

I have to calc a road that was the typical PI to PI traverse with laying out the curves from the PI's.?ÿ Early math calc's showed that I had a mix of information, a little chord def and a little arc def on their degree of curve, so, I made a quick spreadsheet for a full analysis.?ÿ It is just regular curves and like most of you I just do them on the fly, but, this is for when you have a whole road full of them.

Since we can now make these attachments part of the forum, this is the spiral one referenced above.

Thanks Norm!

Now I won't have to break out the 48 every time I need a quick spiral calc.
