I love the 700.

#1 Lightweight, super lightweight.
#2 Great Trimble engine, fast fixes.
#3 Runs all day, no problem.
#4 Fast charge mode: check instructions, there is a fast charge mode that will fill it up over an hour lunch.
#5 Did I mention that it is only 1.4 lbs, complete? Size and weight are amazing.

If you choose to use FAST Survey for the collection software, there is no way to store raw data. If you use SurveyPro, no problem.

Coupled with a lightweight data collector and a lightweight pole, I believe it is the lightest receiver on the market.

There is an accessory cable (serial) for downloading and updating that is not part of the package, you may want to pick one up with the unit.

Disclosure: we deal in them, but I think I can be objective about it.

You will like your PM700!

M

I agree. It's a great unit. It doesn't incorporate the Zblade technology, which I personally miss but the weight, battery life and ease of use is great. Price can't be beat either.

I have never taken a PM700 apart, however I believe there are standard 18650 style lithium-ion battery cells in the 700.

I would purchase the highest quality cells I could find, I have been told it is not a big deal to replace them (once you figure out how top open the lid--I use credit card pieces to slip in the fingers.)

Dear Sir,

Thank you for your suport and prompt answer.

I already open the PM700 case. I found 2 Li-Ion batteries 3.7V 2.55 Ah 11CR18/65 Rose Electronics EPG-1356, with a safety unit.

The problem is that I cannot find a location to order these batteries with safety units (it looks like a temperature sensor attached to the battery).

I think the equivalent battery from Rose Electronics is LI-1S1P-2500 (in the attachement you will find the specs), but I can't find the online store to order it.

Would you be so kind to help me with this situation.

Best greetings,

George Marghetici, from Romania.?ÿ
