We are finally updating our data collector (been using a HP48GX for years). I am hoping someone here is using the same setup or has in the past and can help out. I changed the baud rate to 9600, (was 2400 with the HP) I have played around with the parity from None to Even, but it still takes a good 20 seconds or so for the data collector to engage the total station to take a shot. On the HP I also choose the Wild 1600 as the instrument. Is there another instrument I can select with the Ranger that will improve the performance? Thanks for any help you can offer.

Volleypc,

What are the options listed under the Leica instruments?

The TC series was before the TPS series. However, both series used the GSI commands. I would use TPS, of course, but your response seems to say that models are not listed. In some programs such as TDS the system defaults to the old communications for Leica which are 7-Even-1. You should continue to use the low baud rate of 2400 with the TC600. The older instruments work better with the low baud rates.

If you select TPS do you get a drop down list for choosing any specific models?
