I love my job!

Here are some photos with my new Pentax Optio ([msg=195304]thanks for the recommendation Roadhand[/msg]) It is like a Batman Camera. Much better quality than my iPhone.

Although I had to make screen shots of these before I could upload them, because they were over the 2MB maximum allowed by Wendell. They were 2.01, 2.12, etc. I wonder if there is a way to force my camera to limit the output of the images to 1.99MB?

Some might consider these shots to be boring. But I find them beautiful. It was so peaceful and calm this morning.

I love my job!

By the way, is there some way to post an *.MOV file, rather than putting it on YouTube first?

Enjoy:

Check your camera setting- it should let you pick a standard resolution or size- not 2.0mb, but 640x480 or some such.

I liked the "calm pics- no/low ADT surveying is quite nice when you can get it.
the pic of the TS under a tree had me laughing- last year a crew set the control and assumed coords. and we came in later to GPS, it- EVERY HCP was under a tree- not even really good points for working from.
Me -"why are they under the trees how am i supposed to get GPS on that?"

Them- "Shade- and that your problem."

Sounds like someone wants to document driving through Indiana backroads when the corn is high enough to block sight distance and make all the curves blind enough so we have to panic-skid-stop every time we encounter a 2-horse Amish buckboard wagon full of kids? :woot:

Thanks! I love those pics, reminds me of growing up in Illinois!

I know on the iphone, the only way to 'resize' images is to email them to yourself and it will give you the option for compression there.

Boring, Not at all. Looks like nice country to work in.

I open my pictures in "Microsoft Office Picture Manager". You can scroll through them and re-size by picking EXPORT under the FILE tab. I also change the name and directory to a place I keep pictures that I post. This program is basic, but does the things I need, such as a Crop tool.

Great tip Scott, I reduced them to 95% which brought all six down from 12.4 to 9.8 MB. Let's see if these look any better / cleaner than the OP:

Hi Bradd,
great scenery ... these could have been pics from Belgium with the fields and small roads. That's exactly where I live here!
I was out in the corn fields last week for a new waste water treatment site.

What was your job about, boundary? Road renovation?

As for sharing your movies ... I've been using Photobucket
You can upload the movies and share by linking.

thanks for sharing
&
have a great weekend!

Christof.

Thanks for the photo bucket reminder Christof. It has been a few years since I have used that site. I also like ending a sentence with your name, that way I can use the "dot" for two purposes.

This project was a basic divide up 50 acres into 5 to 10 acre parcels. The owner wanted me to "mow down" the new lines through the corn with my ATV, I should have taken photos of that too.

Oh well, here is a movie I took with my new Bat Phone, when I thought I was just snapping photos, duh.
