Hi,
I was having low battery on the GSR2700ISX receiver and suddenly the indicator went to full charge!
Is this a bug or the receiver works this way putting the 2nd battery to operation when the 1st battery is discharged?

I've used these receivers for 7 years now and I've never seen that happen! It might be that one battery has dropped out and then in again, either electronically or through a loose connection. I think the cover plate pushes the battery up to the contacts so you could check the screws are tight.

I did that and powered up the receiver. At first the battery indicator was full and after 1-2 minutes gone back to low battery.
So I guess that it was a false reading of the battery.
Thanks anyway!

I've been running these for quite a while now too and haven't had the issue you mentioned. The only 'problem' that i've had was the base's battery seemed to drain quicker than the rover, by a significant amount. I sent it in and they reprogrammed the battery..

Ed Castelan at Sokkia support in the US might be able to explain this.

[email protected]

He told me that these are smart batteries that communicate with the receiver so it could be a firmware glitch. Factory reset or firmware reload might be worth trying? Or, cleaning the battery contacts?

Right now the unit is charging so I will do a factory reset after it completes.
If it happens again I will report back.

P.S. How often you do a factory reset?

I do a factory reset every time I am going to do static collection.

I turn it on, let it tell me it's ready then I hold that button down for about 25 seconds until I hear "Factory reset" (you do have to wait unitl after "reciever turning off", keep holding that button down)... then after it runs it's routine I turn it off and then on again...

Might be an extra on and off there, but I haven't lost any data since I started this practice.
