The Civil Rights movement has been a personal study topic of mine for a long time. It was a great influence on me growing up. I hold a profound respect for the work of Doctor King and contemplate his words often.
When the number one form of celebration of his life is a furniture sale I'm going to work. My preference is to live with equality in mind and leave the faux celebrations to others..

:good:
That is what the holiday is about ..your civil rights.
I believe that Dr. King would have no problem with anybody working or trying to make a buck on his holiday..be it any color or creed.
If one wants to parade..fine
if one wants to work .. fine
if one wants to sleep.. fine
if one wants to sell furniture ..fine
if one wants to Barbecue..fine.
etc etc etc
I don't think MLK would have a problem with any of the above as long as anyone's civil rights are not denied.
It is a U.S. National Holiday and it is on all calendars.
ahem..if it is not on your calendar than maybe you are not living in the USA

Did Arizona cave and I missed it?...
Make hay while the sun shines.
It's a holiday for bankers and government workers. The rest of us just had several days off three weeks ago. Someone has to make a living.
That's no kidding!
Double that!
