In this video we will explore how you can upload your point cloud data online so your clients and team partners can view, measure and digitize your data. Did I mention this method is 100% free if you already have your web hosting setup? If you don't a couple dollars a month still seem like a bargain to me.

Mate, that's an awesome video. Perfect timing too, I've been using a company that hosts point clouds for customers, just last week I tried contacting them and no answer, no one answering sales, accounts or technical help, none of the contacts I had answering their mobiles or emails and no reply's to messages.

This is a far superior solution.

Our meshing software has also been discontinued, no longer available as the company was bought out, I've got a year's license, that's it.

Really drives home the importance of having access to software and how precarious it can be when companies go bust or get bought out.

Thank you.

Cheers,

Peter.

Thanks for this. I had been using veesus.com to do this but they are increasing their subscription charge x 7 times in the coming weeks so it is not really worth it for the amount I would actually use it. I will try and use these videos as I have a hosting domain already.

I scan a lot of places that end up with only 2D output and it seems like the scan data could be useful to the client, so I agree with you that it's a good idea to make the scan data available like this.

Thanks for the replies.

I get bugged sometimes in the office for maintaining a fondness for open source software but you are both describing situations that highlight why it can be so useful.

Just because you may have access to the newest, fanciest piece of software right now doesn't mean you always will.
