When I arrived in Rosebud Nevada in about 1986 (or so), there was NOTHING left of the Town except the dirt road leading into it. Over the next few years, "we" lived in tents, performed a 100?ý mile trilateration network (NAD27 SPC), staked Lode Claims, established geophysical grids, and retraced several old Mineral Surveys in the area.?ÿ
As usual I procured every document that I could find to aid in my retracement work, which included USGS Bulletin 414 by Frederick Leslie Ransome (1909). It included the following comment, which made a lasting impression in my cluttered mind:
Ol' Fred had a way with words!
