Concerning the Sulphur River in east Texas, I'm wondering if there is a source of information (e.g., a plat) regarding how the river was re-channeled (in places). I haven't been to the county clerk yet, but I also haven't been able to find anything on the Army Corps of Engineer's or Sulphur River Basin Authority's site (but I might be in the wrong place on the site).

Any suggestions?

Try the USGS site for historical topo maps. May or may not give you the detail you need.
