I've been borrowing the millwrights auto level on a job and I like the crosshairs - see above - a sideways "V" on the left. This particular job has 105' benchmarks scribed on numerous columns inside the building, 5' above the floor. Standard procedure is to set the level at 105' by trial and error, adjusting the legs. I can usually get it in 3 or 4 attempts...
This kind of reticle is good for that because you can actually see the scribed line within the "V" when you are on it - instead of knowing you are on it because you can't see it. Know what I mean?
This particular level is a Sokkia B21 (expensive)
My question is (finally): Does anyone have, or know of, another level with the same reticle pattern?
And don't tell me to use a total station - I like using a level:-P
I think the Wild NA2 has the carrot.
The Wild N3 is like that.

i second bucking in the level on precise projects. 5' AFF is a great way to go. when you set your mark on the column, the horizontal part, put a crows foot below it. this way it would not matter what crosshair type you are using. see below:
bench mark horizontal
c r
o w
s f
o o
t .
