My base wouldn't turn on this morning. It's a Topcon Legacy E. I've always had to use an external battery, but, it has always worked fine. Is there a reset button? Anyone have a similar experience?
My normal 12 volt, 9 amp/hour battery quit taking a charge; so, I used a 12volt battery from a Jetski yesterday. It worked fine all day; but, today it's a no go. Any input would be great.

I'm not certain about your specific model, but you might try holding the FN button and the power button at the same time when turning it on.
Maybe connect to it with Topcon receiver utility and reset from there
Thanks for you help. I've tried both with no luck.
My experience with TRU is the receiver has to be powered up before it will connect.

I think you are correct. It seems if you hold them both for less than 6 seconds it does a soft boot and longer than 6 is a hard boot. It has been a long time. Seems I always had to do the hard boot, which got everything working good but cleaned out your storage memory but nothing that affected your operating systems. Jp
Thanks for all the ideas. It will power up with the charger cord for my Hiper+; but, not with the usual base battery. I'm very puzzled...
Just to close the thread:
It was the cable. I put the a new Lemo cable end on my battery cable and all is well...for now. I have a feeling the power jack on the receiver is getting worn. It needs a tight, new, Lemo connector to work.
