I have run my GPS and terrestrial data together for almost twenty years. There is no reason not to.
We use a single file too.
Almost all of our jobs involve GPS and Total Station together.
It's just easier all in one job.
Our biggest issue is that if you use gps data from another job, you need to remember to apply the same site calibration in the new job, it does not come across automatically.
