Much of the Bing/Sydney conversation input seems to also include the bottom dredges of the internet (ie. the sub forums of Reddit where ragaholics get to scream at each other). The only good to come out of it was that Microsoft did the impossible -- they got people to talk about and use Bing as a search engine. Some of the articles showing off the responses make my 5 year old son look more mature and logical when he's having a temper tantrum.

ChatGPT, for now, seems to be useful to create a rudimentary basis (codewise) for a program. It does the main "skeleton" and a programmer fills in the rest. I can see it being useful for the "base" and then a person takes over. Civil3d's new autograding feature is a semi-relevant example of this.

Sometimes the old solution is still the better solution. Self driving cars at Level 4 or 5 is going to be incredibly difficult. However, the Amish teenagers on my backwater road have already got it beat. They chug a few too many rounds of Busch, slap the horse on the arse, and wake up in the barn.
