I came across a list of C&GS magnetic stations and one was in my hometown cemetery. That was a good place for them, away from fences and piping, but probably not so good after steel caskets became popular.?ÿ Azimuths were given to two prominent building spires, both of which are now gone.?ÿ?ÿ I found the station and did an OPUS Share just to preserve the history. I also did a writeup for the county newspaper explaining its purpose, which they augmented with old pictures of the church and old courthouse that are gone.
