just purchased an old Ranger TDS 200T W/Surv Pro 3.8.1, and don't know anything about it. This ranger replaces my HP48G for data collection. I perform minimal object location surveys for the design and relocation of railroad tracks in industrial facilities.
My instrument is a Topcon C3 and is suitable for this slow pace work.

I need manuals for both the R200T and surv. pro, and information for connection to the C3 and PC.
John

I found the manual on the trimble site a few weeks ago HERE

The survey pro manual I found is for a slightly newer version but will probably work.
Here it is.

The program is essentially the same as what you were using. I switched from a Husky to the 200t years ago and it was nearly seem less.

You will need Microsoft active sync(on the PC) to connect to the PC and you will need to exit survey pro to do so. EXPORT your coordinates before you exit SurveyPro... I used comma delimiter PDNEZ which is probably what you use.

Play with the collector a little and you will be pleased with the 200. If it won't last all day replace the battery pack.

I can access the files from the PC using a USB cable no matter where in the program the data collector is. Just plug it in and wait for the PC to find it with windows explorer.

Yup... No, it don't work that way with the older 200 models or SurveyPro 3.8

I've had the same experience as Pin Cushion. Active Sync will not kick in on my Ranger 200C if TDS Survey Pro is open. In fact, I have to exit out of Survey Pro before I plug in the cable, exiting out of the Survey Pro while it's plugged in will not do the trick.

Caddam,

I have a info sheet for the Ranger 200 series data collectors. Send me an email to the address in my profile, and I will email you the info sheet that I have.

I have a 200T, and I really like it. It is my backup data collector, but I do use it on a regular basis to keep the batteries cycled, and everything working together.

Jimmy
