A railroad surveyer vows to bring justice when his father and brother are murdered by cattle rustlers.
Stars:?ÿAudie Murphy, Dan Duryea, Susan Cabot, Abbe Lane
Release Year:?ÿ1954
Already on my recording list. ?ÿAudie Murphy the most decorated soldier ever. He was not a Marine but he was one true patriot. Read his book and love his movies. We need more leaders like him. We need leaders that don??t just bark orders but never ask anyone under them to do anything that they will not do themselves.?ÿ
Dang it.?ÿ Not one scene involving surveying.?ÿ The viewer learns that Audie's line of work is as a railroad surveyor.?ÿ So, he leaves that to become a deputy in hopes of tracking down the rustlers who killed his father and brother.
Dan Duryea is spectacular as the "bad" guy acting like a "good" guy.
@holy-cow Whitey Kincade he has a unique laugh. ?ÿI finally was able to watch late last night after the kidos were put to bed. ?ÿThank goodness for the ability to record.
That laugh made Dan Duryea a huge amount of money over his career.
Believe it or not, his parents did not approve of him going into the acting the business so he worked in the world of advertising for six years.?ÿ Then he had a heart attack because of all the stress that career brings.?ÿ To heck with his parents opinion.?ÿ He went into acting for his health, you might say.?ÿ Cancer got him at 61, though.
@holy-cow Wow nice history lesson. ?ÿAlways good to learn a little something i had no knowledge of.
He should have kept his Railroad Surveyor??s job. For some reason, people up to no good do not pay working surveyors any attention. He could have surveyed right into the rustlers camp and killed them all.
In The Fighting Kentuckian, the duke poses as a surveyor when trying to get closer to the father of the leading lady.
