A question for the construction surveyors. When you profile the prestressed?ÿ concrete beams at the quarter points and eighth points, do you calculate the points from center to center of bent? Actual length of beam? Center to center of bearing pad?

If you need eighth points for a long span, how do you calculate the deflection for them?

Not talking about inverted T bent caps. Just a simple typical bridge.

Assuming you are shooting X-dimensions, you take the shots wherever the plans are dimensioned to.?ÿ Should be an X-dimension sheet with all the distances on it.

The plans show a quarter point and a mid point but on longer beams, sometimes it is necessary to break that down more. TxDot uses 0.7123 x midpoint deflection for the quarter point. Someone somewhere would have the equivalent multiplier for the 1/8 and 3/8 point.

Any ideas?
