I have a couple of questions for the North Carolina folks:

1) I am looking for a good reference on Boundary Law in North Carolina?

2) Can Surveyors design water lines and gravity sewers in North Carolina?

Thanks!

1) Check with Larry Phipps he should have some good stuff. I did a PLS review with his company several years ago and it came with an excellent book by the speaker.

2) The only hydro we are allowed to do in NC is "incidental to a subdivision". Which limits us to mainly pipes and ditches.

Thank you Brandon for the kind words. We have several exam review sessions scheduled for the fall. You can get the details at our website. (www.landsurveys.com)

He is exactly right on the drainage calculations. Only those that are "incidental to the design of a subdivision". I have heard the board staff discuss this matter often and they always say that just because you are a PLS does not mean you are authorized design a sewer line extension for a town. We are not allowed to do stuff like that.
