good morning to all!, I have a couple of gps sokkia locus and want to do but I have kinematic locus ram card that goes into the calculator hp 48 gx to work as controller .. anyone can tell me where I can buy this card or someone can sell me?, I'm really interested in buying it ..., or ..., some software compattible know these do sokkia gps locus function for kinematic controller? .. , I thank you infinitely ...
They are so old that in many the internal, not changeable, battery has died.
As an alternative get a Map 330 on ebay for about $50. Use it to get your hand written notes on GPS time, then use those notes to break up your long kinematic file into a stop and go file. Start your S&G with a 20 minute occupation and end with 15 minutes. If possible every hour hit a point you will reoccupy later.

is possible to use the gps map 330 as controller for kinematic locus in gps?
es posible usar el gps map 330 como controladora para levantamientos cinematicos en los gps locus??
The Map 330 is not like some of the latest personal GPS devices so does not have any control capabilities. It would be a stand alone device, but since it has GPS capabilities you can read comparable GPS time as your Locus receivers. You can store waypoints which will corresond to the Locus but at much less precision.
The Locus is most useful today as a static receiver, there are much more capable kinetic receivers.

ok, thanks
The controllers will be hard to find without haunting ebay or begging here for a year or so. However the controller doesn't necessarily do much that you might be able to operate without one. I can take a look and see if the 48gx version can be listed and if so you could probably key it into another gx.
Basically all the controller does is keep a log of station names and times observed. This is put into one of several formats in a simple text file that is then read by ashtech solutions to parse the data stream into specific observations. I have seen two formats. for GNSS Solutions I have no idea, but assume previous formats are supported.
You may be able to find file formats and procedures on either the sokkia or ashtech web sites. The controller also syncs the clocks, but if you have the proper time in your data collection which could even be done with a pencil and paper, I would guess it would work. Key is that the time on station the antenna is not moved.
There was quite a bit of info on this on the old ashtech board which I think is still archived and available on the pob rpls.com sites.
I have not checked what is available for a year or so.
I think you will find the process even with one or the other the controller still a bit tedious unless in wide open spaces and some practice with your procedure.
At one point I captured all of the docs on the Ashtech FTP site and so may be able to find some docs.
