First post on this board - used to post on the 'other' board before all the changes - I see some familiar names here posting......

Question of the day....

I'm looking for a power cable to fit a Topcon DM-C2 top mount edm - yes, I know it's a dinosaur - but - I picked one up for really cheap (minus the charger/power supply) and will (hopefully) be using it as part of the equipment to teach the Boy Scout surveying merit badge (on November 5th) - Won't matter too much what the scouts do to this one....

Anyone have a DM-C2 charger/power cable laying around they want to get rid of or an extra to sell really, really cheap? Scouts are thrifty, remember? What else would you do with them anyways - donate 'em to a museum? 😉

This is going back to the days of 1979 when this baby was new 🙂 I know there's a few like me on this board who were surveying then.....

Any help / leads would be GREATLY appreciated!

8.4 volts, looks like a two pin lemo connector - half circle male, half female -

My other option is to go in and rewire another plug (a lot less elegant than an original cable)....

Thanks!

Rusty

Geez, Rusty - didn't you know that I've been saving you one of those cables for the past twenty years or so?

I also have two of those Topcon batteries in the leatherette cases that were used with the DM-C2. The cases and connectors are fine but there is no way the Ni-Cd cells could be any good after all these years.

No charger, sorry. Many of those Topcon chargers failed because people tried to charge batteries with one or more shorted cells and the charger fatally overheated.

Will send them out on Monday at no charge. Do you still use the Chicken Creek Road address? If not, send me your current address for UPS and USPS by the e-mail link by my name.
