In 1979 or 1980 the poster known as “Geezer” was my party chief. He was recently arrived from Iowa in his ’77 Jeep Prairie Schooner. I started working with Scott Freshwaters in 1991, although we’d known one another for a couple years prior. And I’ve know Shelby Griggs, Kevin Samuel and “Survey OR” for sometime now through the local surveying community.
And as an honorable mention, I’ve got a good friend – a former surveyor turned geologist – who worked for a Federal Parks survey crew with none other than Michael Binge in the 1980s. He had some interesting stories…
OK, I looked on a map. You are closer to Ft. Myers. I had a friend who lived in that area that took me on a spring baseball tour quite a few years ago. He lived near Ft. Myers. Maybe that is where I heard the name before.
