> Well, I am a surveyor and that info would be worth about 2 bucks a point to me.

4-6 HRS X $75/HR = $300-$450

$2/PT X 190 Points = $380

Seems like we are right in the same place.

> You need some better survey techs or some better tools. I could do this with Carlson in half hour or less. The real problem isn't creating the coordinates. The real problem is the coordinate system for the drawing file. META DATA is your critical element.
190 pts in 30 minutes would be a click every 9.5 seconds without pausing for 30 minutes. And no time allowed for anything else, like maybe some sort of quicky sketch map, or writing the numbers on the plans. 3 hrs would be about one per minute which I think is more realistic once you add add descriptors, which I'm assuming is going to be something more than "STAKE" or "SAN", etc., and maybe allow for a bathroom break. QC, package deliverables, etc. for one more hour. To say nothing of figuring out the coordinate system for the drawing file, etc. That's if all goes about as well as it can go.

Sure, if I were under the gun I could probably get it done faster. But that's not how employees work day after day.

I stand by my estimate.

I've spent time working in the bush in B.C., and that what is shown on that video is nothing unusual.

Waterloo Ontario . We would have to miss on a big one that's coming up soon and it would have to stop raining in Arkysaw long enough for me to finish what I have to do here by the 4th of July. If I am here past then, I will probably end up in El Paso.

"Is that ethical to charge the same as the average person could do?"

No. It is unethical to not charge more for your expertise. They are not looking for the cheapest generation of coordinates. They are looking for coordinates that matter.

Are you going to charge by the hour or by the years it took to be able to do it so fast, and the investment in equipment/software?

I don't know, just throwing out ideas.

About the time you move to Canookdia, your Stars will again shine. One of those ironic twists of jinxville

Everybody is right about the 'skeeters & black flies. They will ruin your day, even at night. Plan on mid May through mid Aug, eat lots of garlic.

I've driven through Waterloo. Bring your fishin' gear & head North... lots of walleye & pike to be had. mmmmmm good

Not too sure about those Maple Leaves though, seems a perpetual purgatory machine in action. I'll go with my guys and hope your guys step it up (I'm tired of the LA connection). Looking like Kings v Rangers, but I ain't doubling down on nobody just yet. Rather see the Habs, but they have a task ahead, as do the Kings to make it out of Chitown in one piece.
