I don't know about you, but I'd think about a letter to the whole bunch.

Like,

Dear sirs, madams, and all the in between and undecided,
I performed a survey, of some subject property, called Grace Acres, The monuments were set. The plat was filed. The required persons SAW the markers, and also signed off.
Everybody was happy.
Construction commenced. Destroyed some markers.
Whose job is it to PAY to have them replaced?
This is an important question.
How long is the warranty?
Will you consider that I am aging, and that those monuments will probably outlast me, even if they are moved, and sold for scrap metal?
I would like to recommend that you by surveyor marker insurance. Cost is only 39.95 per marker, per year. Here is how it works. your project contains 47 markers. This comes to 1877.65 per year. Once a year, I come by, and be sure that all the markers are in place. And, you pay your bill.
Now, I'd like to address the fact that it has been 2 years since the original makers were set. So, this comes to 3755.30, to bring your monument insurance up to date.
Please remit 3755.30, and we will take care of the rest.
With fresh paint, and flagging, and brand new rebars.
Thank you

Zyz surveying.

Ps, and the fine print says:
If a Monument is deemed to be in good shape, then it will be recovered, and flagged.
If your monument insurance lapses by more than 4 yrs, then we can remove all markers, at our discretion, and when your insurance is brought up to date, then there will be a re instatement fee, equal to the number of years that your insurance has lapsed, plus a 10% fee, for new markers...

The developer then proceeds to build the subdivision in the process removing many if not most of the monuments.

City says,,,,,,,,,,heyyyyyyy!!!!!!!!!

My City doesn't say ****! The inspectors don't even know they are supposed to be looking for property corner or centerline monuments!!
