Yes, I have owned and used it for years. It is excellent, it has many very useful features and tools, extremely easy to use. It is my current go-to software for side calculations. It is a shame that they never moved on to newer platforms with it.

Actually it was makerted as RAMSS which is the company that wrote and sells it.

TW
Also still use 48GX SMI Version 7. Do you know how to remove "Warning - Invalid Card Data"?. Only lasts about 2 seconds.

It was pretty cutting-edge back in the mid-90's. But I can't imagine using it today, considering how much better you can do today.

PINIT Should Remove Warning

If it doesn't replace card battery.

If no battery keep fresh ones in HP 48 and turn it on on a regular basis.

Thanks, guys. I appreciate the info. Also, thanks to Paul in PA for the PINIT clue. I have also had that problem before and just "lived with it" as it goes away in a few seconds.
Thanks again,
Jim

I have the Student Cogo version of the Ramss software, and on the same card is their Hydro Tools software. I bought that program
Card and 48GX when I was a draftsman and still in college. It is a great program, and I have used it for almost 17 years now.

Reinitialize Then PINIT

Remove both cards.

Turn HP48 on with cards removed, now clear the 48 memory.
Hold down "On" Simultaneously press "A" and "F".
The diplay will show "Try to Recover Memory".
Press "No".
Wait, when you get all clear message, turn it off.

Open back, check to see that the 48 card contacts are clean, use a pencil eraser if neccessary. Blow out the dust.

Install both cards. Turn on, repeat the first steps.
Wait while the RAM card is initialized and the SMI card.

Reversing 2 of 3 batteries also clears memory.

Typing "PINIT" is the default, last resort is remove the foot and put a paper clip in the hole.

Hope it goes away. If not sacrifice a bucket from KFC. The 48 won't work better but you'll feel better.
