Hello.'
This is my first post in this forum. Actually, I found this forum by googling long-range Bluetooth for Trimble s6.
I have a trimble S6 robotics paired with a tsc2 with a radio connection.
What I want is to use a Panasonic Toughbook FZ-G1 as a controller.
I think that Panasonic has already long-range Bluetooth class 1.
I know that I can use Trimble tdl Bluetooth radio, or buy a Panasonic G2 with a radio from the pwa- electronic company, but I was wondering if there is a better solution. Right now my S6 radio has a problem and maybe it needs replacement so a Bluetooth connection will be a better solution.
I read a lot of posts here. Some mention some diagrams that are not visible to me.
Has anyone tried this?
Thank you

Some S6 instruments come with bluetooth already onboard
But if yours does not
Trimble make a device called the "EDB" - Electronic Data Bridge
It takes bluetooth and spits out S series radio
Easy to use and they really do work - I use one between my TDC600 and S6
my Trimble has Bluetooth but it's not long-range. It can only work about 10 m from the instrument.
Trimble even has a better option, the Trimble TDL 2.4GHz, but it's another object to carry in the field.
I was looking for a more compact option.
