Congrats,

Welcome to the brotherhood of overworked, underpaid, and high libility. I have been doing this for 42 years next March and it took 40 years for some of the glammer amd shine to wear off. I wish you a long, happy, and profitable time

Mike

I left the cold many moons ago and moved to the far south.
I went back to get my PA license to add to my collection.

Mr James

Paul in PA is my Board Name. When I got on the other board way back when there were several other Pauls posting quite a bit. Since I am from PA, it was easy to distinguish myself by that handle, Since I am in reality Lawrence Paul Lopresti, PE, PLS I add the PE, PLS when I want to up the dignity of the moniker. Since I was congratulating 2 new PA Surveyors one of whom is also a PE I considered it appropriate.

If you are questioning the PA in PA-PLS that stands for Pennsykvania Association. A few years back our local chapter of PSLS (Pennsylvania Society of Land Surveyors) wrote a request to the state society to reduce membership fees rather than increase them and to do more affordable CEUs, especially in light of it becoming a PA requirement. They ignored us and so an affordable alternative was created.

PA-PLS (Pennsylvania Association of Professional Land Surveyors) currently has seven active chapters that have provided at least one seminar. There are members from 61 of PA's 68 counties., plus members in 9 mostly adjacent states, The creator Nick Remy is trying to find a coordinator in the Blair, Cambia, Cameron, Centre, Clearfield, Huntingdon, Snyder and Union area which have 43 current members to initiate a new chapter by coordinating a seminar. The goal is to limit seminars to 50 attendees to simplify room arrangements. PEs are welcome at seminars that cover more than simply surveying.
