I have experience running OPUS sessions with Trimble equipment, have never run one with Topcon Hiper lite, but it's all I have to work with right now.

With trimble we just turned the unit on and it started collecting data immediately. Does the hiper lite work the same or similar? Any information that could be provided would be helpful as I am up against the clock.

No, IIRC, you hold the FN button for 2 seconds to switch between logging and not logging static. I can't recall if it remembers that setting after you turn it off, though. The REC light blinks a redish color when it's in Static mode.

The big question with the Hiper Lites, though, is does it have on-board memory enabled? They are not shipped with activated memory, you have to purchase an OEM file to enable the static memory option.

you can use the Minter functions (the function button)
or you can access this through your data collector
i prefer this as you can enter your tripod height

what are you using for data collection?
we use TopSurv which does pretty well
set the survey settings to Static+RTK
when you start your base for the RTK, the static starts recording

I think the "+" only refers to it having GLONASS as an option. The original Hiper Lites did not have that option. The "plus" did not come with static memory as a standard option, either. There is a program that came on the CD (I can't remember what it's called, maybe FLOADER.EXE, someone help me here), where you'd plug the Hiper into the computer, run the program, and it would list all the options and whether they were enabled or disabled. You'd see the option for RAM and if it said 0MBs under "purchased", it meant the Hiper had no memory enabled for static. If you are not sure about this, you probably need to start by running this program to see if you've got memory enabled.
