Due to the rover not talking to satellites and the DC (FC2600) acting crazy, Jim and I have been using the old 48 with Survey Pro. Doing fine with that, just that my new laptop with Windows 7 won't even read it and the old laptop with XP has to hunt for the port I'm connected to, so down loads have been a lot fewer between than I care for (not every day in other words). Well ...Jim tells me that the low battery indicator was on. Went to down load it yesterday so as to be able to change the card battery (wasn't the AAA in the 48). Low battery didn't allow a download, so leaving the card in the DC, I slipped the coin battery out, right then, my fingers slipped and I popped the damn card out! :excruciating: PPFFFFFFFFFFFFFT! there went EVERYTHING on the card. Can you still send the cards in and have the data retrieved or am I just a screwed pooch? Nothing lost that wasn't swing tied and shot with a level, but there's 2 traverses that need to be re-run. Nice end to the week!

I feel your pain.

I had an SDR31 cold boot spontaneously on me about 10 years ago. Lost 10 hours work on that. It could've been 2 but I was lazy about downloading it at the end of the previous day.

It has been about 4 years since I have had to try this, but the data might still be available. Your situation is a little different than in my experiences. Look at the HP manual for re-installing the cards in the library. I remember there is a process of taking out the cards and re-installing them. I am not promising anything, but might be worth a try. Good Luck. I still have my manual, if you need further assistance. I am not too sure anout sending the cards in.
