Hi guys,

Going to try for another score with equipment help. This time is two students from local technical college. They have two Leica SR20s (manufactured 2006) and the output display is WGS84, Lat Long. They would like to have it in UTM.

I have looked at the settings for them and I see where it is WGS84 and it's not changeable. Then we tried starting a new project and then it is changeable however it goes to a screen that lists WGS84 and it looks like it would list other systems but there is nothing there except the WGS84. So it is changeable there, but there is nothing to select but the aforementioned WGS84. So, it looks to me like it needs more datum files or coord system files. Therefore, my question is: where can I get some of these files that would work in this Leica system?

Any help would be appreciated, including verification that I am on the right track.

Stephen

Some of the older Leica units didn't come with any coordinate systems pre-loaded, you had to create them yourself. I'm pretty sure that if you go to New (or Add or whatever terminology they use) Coordinate System UTM will be one of your options, you just need to specify the zone. For SPCS you'll need to key in the definitions (origin, meridians, etc.).

what office software are they using? If I vaguely remember, you had to upload the files from the office software.

Yes, you have to load it from the library.
Also put it in Meters.
