I have a ton of office work I have to do this week....and its killing me. I'd much rather be in the field...... even though its supposed to reach 90 degrees here today. Can I get an Amen?

I was in the field the last two days in 90 degree heat, it's highly overrated.

I have to admit hot coffee mixes better with AC than 90 degree heat.

It was muddy, in the 40's and raining off and on all day Monday, still better than the office the last two days, and of course it's been almost perfect weather.:(

Told my helper first thing this morning we were going to go for a three mile hike before returning to the vehicles. I will attempt to get a better estimate once I download all the data. We left the section line, went about 700 feet, then about 250 feet, then followed a specific contour line along one side of a small stream until it crossed over, then back up the other side until it hit near the junction with a second stream, then went up one side of that stream on the same contour until it crossed over, then back up the other side until we were something like 900 feet north of the south section line, then went maybe 800 feet west to the edge of the trees, the followed the trees for what seemed like a half mile until finally hitting the section line again, then nearly three-quarters of a mile down the road to where we had left the vehicles. Cedars, hedge trees, whatever will actually grow with a half-inch of top soil and limestone rocks, boulders and short bluffs everywhere. Only lost about a pint and a half of blood from the gouges in my arms after clawing our way through that junk.

The office was starting to look pretty darned good.
