"John's Little Acre" borrowed from ACSM bulletin, August 1975. Enjoy! Jp

Since you shared this here, I will hope you don't mind if I share this at a seminar I assist at.

:)I probably did something wrong by posting but can't imagine the author would mind us sharing years latter. If I wrote it I would be happy that value was still found in the story. Jp

Is there a problem with sharing an article that someone published in a magazine? I should probably know this, but if it is publicly published, what is the harm in sharing it?

(by the way, I think you meant "perspective". Sorry but everytime I see this title, I have been "biting my tongue" and now it has been loosed.)

I liked the article. I had to download the image. Then, open the image in my photo editing software. Then, scale it up a bit. But, I finally got to read "John's Little Acre".

Thanks!

L.M. Powell Passed on many years ago, and so has his son Steve. I've retraced both across the Bitterroot valley. Good Surveyors....

If that's the worst spelling mistake made this week, we'll all be lucky. The "Spelling Police" are a running joke around here, but really we're just trying to help each other express ourselves more clearly. Take it as a learning experience as I'm sure it was intended, not as a personal attack, and please do contribute when you have something to add.

It's just a web site where we all state things off the top of our heads. They aren't words on a legal description. Sometimes we mistype some words. It is kind of rude to point out a typo. My apologies. I do that too often.

Well, there's the question of whether the article's copyright is held by the author (or heirs), the ACSM, or shared.

a copy of this was given to me in a surveying class years ago. i pass it along anytime that a question comes up about the differences in the still used original record description, usually an office concocted north-south-east-west with even distances, versus whats on the ground. it has come in handy many times and helps to explain things pretty well w/out me having to say a word.
