Who did the hydro survey at New York to determine the depth needed for the newly docked hospital ship? Wow!
I don't know.
When the dredging was done for the assembly of Tappan Zee Bridge, the Barge operator used his I-phone and the daily tides to determine depth. They didn't call for survey until they had finished dredging. We determine they were off by more than 3ft in elevation, so the dredger had to return.
There are a couple of companies that do it, simply GPS and depth ranger of some sort.
The dredging is done every spring, in anticipation of the cruise ships coming in.
There are several piers, one always seems to have a ship, the others lie mostly unused.

It's good to see you back, Angelo. hope to see more posts from you!
?ÿprobably a Corps of Engineers contractor with the New York District. That's their turf and no one's doing anything on it without their say-so. It was probably side-scan sonar. But that was was being used 10 years ago. Back then you can have the ii modeled in a few hours. I would think now you could have it modeled in real time
