Thanks Tom. I watched some videos on the iPhone 4 and most of the problems with the antenna seems to be with users and their death grips on the phones. The tether part is just to talk with the iPad and not for RTK, at least not at this point.

Both have blue tooth so it should not be a problem, or at least I hope that it would not.

This explains a little about the ESRI app and where it is going.

My main reason for the iPhone was just because of the apple interface. I love the iPad and several people have used mine and they instantly connect with how to operate it even if they have not used a computer.

Theodolite Pro is a great app...so is Chopper 2
let's me crash helicopters on a daily basis and not feel so bad..
The iPhone becomes the controller and the ipad the display

I agree totally on the Apple interface! It is sooo easy to use...very intuitive.
