ACCORDING TO TESTIMONY FROM THE LAND OWNER A 1" SOLID STEEL PIPE WAS SET IN THE 50'S TO MARK THE LOCATION OF THE ORIGINAL CORNER .

Another surveyor reportttred a 1" axle rod. I'm going with him.

Heck, can't edit the title!!

If the thing can be identified, then you can do it and connect it with prior recoveries with a note along these lines:

"Found [describe what you've found in a way that will be useful to some future surveyor] taken to be the identical marker identified by Joe Smith, PLS as a "1-in. axle rod" on Map No. ______ "

Same marker, been replaced with a county cap.

Just hope a plumber doesn't replace any of my plumbing with solid steel pipes.

So, if someone drilled a 1/4" diameter hole down the center of a 6" diameter iron bar would that make it a pipe?????

Never heard of a solid steel pipe. Never heard of a semi-solid steel pipe, either.
