Kris, that is how I figured out about this particular disc. My brother and I have a small pasture of fescue pasture grass that we irrigate and cut like a lawn.

We use two riding lawn mowers to get it done quickly. Sometimes it is several weeks before we can mow it and it sometimes seems like we should be bailing it for hay. We don't like to spend a lot of time working on the mowers.

We have used a 3 bladed John Deer mower and it cuts a great looking lawn if the grass is short. But for heavy thick grass or tall weeds, you end up having to go over it twice. It is also slow driving.

Our best lawn mower is a Frankenstein of sorts. We took the hydrostatic transmission out and replaced with a manual gear driven 6 speed transmission. Love it. It hauls butt and has a low gear that will tow nearly anything. It has a single blade and powers through anything you drive it over. It will do laps around the John Deer.
It's weird they do not offer any new mowers with a "clutch" and a manual transmission.

Do what ski racers do

Makes sense rfc. I use something very similar with a simple jig to put an edge on my telemark skis. Never thought of using it on the machetes though, but then again I try not to beat the crap out of my skis like I do the machetes. 😉
