Well, work has picked up enough that I'll be leaving tomorrow to live in a hotel in Jefferson, Texas until Monday.

We are blessed. I'm not bragging or rubbing it in anyone's face. It's been a hard row to hoe for the last couple of years and the last 4 to 5 months have been a nice relief.

Hope everyone else is picking up.

Good deal Kris, glad to hear you are doing alright these days.

A word of caution if you stay in cheap hotels, check for bedbugs and other disgusting things.

Once, I was on the road staying in a roadside hotel and when I pulled off the covers there was a pile of toenails in the sheets, like someone cut their toenails and left them in a pile...friggn gross.

Well I assume that you mean that you have a job out of town...and no that you lost your home and are living week to week in a shady hotel...

I'll be there in early May. If you're there then come to my workshops. Among other things I'll be doing ETHICS which you now need.

Brag on bro! I'm glad things are moving for you. Hotel life gets old fast, but it is easier to tolerate when it comes with a nice pay day. Have gun - will travel.

Kris,

I might not be too far behind you as far as being away from home. I got word that I may be doing the layout on another long term project. Don't know all the specifics just yet, but will be making some decisions in the next weeks or so.

I am hoping that I will be able to set my camper up and stay in it. Much cheaper.

Live in hotels/Motels all the time usually get the biggest room they have
smaller room for helper
best western and hotel 8 are good.

Small towns usually the older well kept for they have bigger roooms.

Client picks up the tab they are use to it,
as they usually have 100s of guys on the road
any month of the year

Well, congrats! Things still pretty much bite here in Georgia. No one is hiring right now... Never thought I'd miss living in hotels, after spending so much time in them from 2005 to 2007...

remember your peet boot dryer.

Welcome back to the ranks of the road warrior, going on month #3 myself.

Remember, Lean Cuisines are not really diet food if you eat 4 of them at a time, much better than the heart attack in a sack most fast food joints offer for the same price. At 50, this is becoming a bigger deal to me than it was when I was 25.

I have been staying at the Plaza Inn in Corpus Christi most of the last two weeks, working a FedEx job at the Corpus Christi International Airport.

I count my blessing everyday to be working.

When I first started surveying, I lived the motel life for years.

Staking pipelines and traveling from town to town.

Now after raising 2 kids and 25 years of marriage, it sounds good again.

kinda
