There are a couple of Leica scan station 2's for sale on ebay for around $5000 each. Is this the going rate for this type of scanner used? I would like to get started with laser scanning as I have a lot of projects that would benefit from a scan. I presume I could just use Autodesk Recap on a monthly subscription to process the point clouds.
Anybody used or using these scanners?
Don't waste your money on this piece of equipment. Software, Hardware, Firmware, logistics etc. have greatly improved making this scanner more than obsolete.
You will also have difficulty finding support for all those items I listed above

And Leica no longer services it. If it doesn't work then you wasted 5 grand.
You have to have an older version of Cyclone to run it, not an easy proposition. Forget batteries, you need a generator.
