Learned something new today about my Spectra..

..that means it was a good day.

I have a couple of DCs that have Spectra Precision (use to be TDS) installed on them. I favor them just out of personal preference, even though when they sold to Trimble some of their stuff took a turn.

Anyway, if I'm entering a distance on the DC for, just for example, an antenna height; even though the job is in feet, I can enter a distance in meters and simply place an "m" after it.

So rather than entering 6.56 for an instrument height in feet, I can simply enter "2m" an it records the height at 6.56 feet. Works on all the routines. Who knew?

I realize that probably doesn't astound many of you all...but this old fart thought it was pretty cool. B-)

Thank TDS for that feature. It was there prior to the Trimble acquisition.

maybe you knew it before , but thanks to parttimerz, you got to learn it all over again like it was new....:-$

That's the way my (ancient) Trimble TSC1 operates. So, are you saying that the other folks copied this feature from Trimble?

Works in Carlson SurvCE, too. I don't know who the credit originally goes to.
