on the POB folks that messed up their message board and seem content to drive their publication into laser scanning obscurity...

But I want to give a big thumbs up to the folks at "American Surveyor" .. What a great job they are doing, love reading their in depth articles about SURVEYING around the world. If you don't have a subscription, you really should get one.

It's what pob used to be, but better.

IMHO

Andy.

Ditto that Andy!!!
I agree that AS does have the best articles without a doubt.
"Guardians of the Rock" was especially interesting.
The article on the Naica crystal caves was super cool.

I still get POB and Prof. Surveyor but usually just thumb through them.

I still get the POB, look at the cover and usually then put it in the pile with the rest, don't expect to renew, I don't want my name counted in their subscriber data. They made their choice and chose to ignore some good advice. Choosing not to listen to their subscribers and only the advertisers showed they knew nothing about surveyors or even respected their opinions. They have nothing to market anymore, caused by listening to highly educated people with an addenda based on imagination and no common sense. Don't know how much longer they will survive.

1) I'll complain about whatever strikes my fancy, thank you very much. 2) it's FREE, so they are completely beholden to their advertisers, thus content suffers. I'm merely saying that paying a fee seems to provide a much more robust product.
