the same as a TDS CR5 except for the last character?

TDS will open a CR5 as a job file. When I am in the office I have the Link software which makes a CR5 from a CSV file. But I have no place to plug the key into my State laptop computer. So I have to create a new job on the Ranger which requires that I have at least one point then import a CSV file into the job which is not as fast or slick and now I have this dummy point in there (which I could delete but I think it is still in the RAW file).

I have Xport on my personal laptop so it would be easy to make a CRD and change the D to a 5 if they are otherwise the same file.

Dave,

I may be wrong but Topcon has a free program named "Topcon Link".

I use it to convert and open all sorts of point files.

Try going to their site to see if it is available.

If not I think i could send it to you.

Randy

Thanks Randy

I have Topcon Link on all my computers but never thought of that one. It indicates it will make a CR5 from a CSV 🙂

Hi Dave,

The TDS CR5 and the Carlson CRD are different binary formats. Carlson does have routines to convert between these files as needed.
