We are starting a job tomorrow, capturing a steel frame roof, hence near zenith observations (observation from below).
Question:
1) How do we take out the part (and which 1) to enable the installation of the diagonal eyepiece on TCR705? (see photo 1)

2) Is it possible to install the Sokkia DE17 diagonal eyepiece on the Leica? Photo 2, (Leica guy only available on Monday, we would like to shoot some points over the weekends if possible)

p.s looks like the there are a couple of micro size screws on the outer most ring..surely they don't expect us to remove and install those in the field??

It's been a few years but if I recall correctly the piece that I can see with the deeper triangular grooves in it, (between the two focusing knobs) is a locking ring. If you can get two fingernails or other appropriate tools in there and rotate it counter clockwise then the eyepiece will come out easily.
Thanks, that did it..just used my fingers and twisted counter-clock wise..
No show with the SOkkia diagonal eyepiece, it is a screw on type while the LEica is the slot in and lock type..sigh..
Ya, that would make sense. Leica part needed for Leica equipment.
