Created a new job in Access and imported ASCII crd file: No projection/No datum for use with S6. Access isn't able to use crds for some reason. Station setup, go to measure to back sight and can't compute misclosure or horizontal distance but will manually shoot prism. Inverse between the two crds gives a bunch of ? ? ?. Data is in correct fields under point manager. It's like Access says yes, I see the crds but I can't use them for anything. Any ideas what's going on? Done this routine dozens of times and never had this problem. :'(

Is your coordinate system No Projection/No Datum or Scale Factor Only? Needs to be Scale Factor Only with the S6; NP/ND is for when you're going to do a site calibration with GPS.

Got it. Thanks. Some days I feel like a monkey humping a football.

Scale factor only

And

Don't import the file...link it. That way only points you use import into the file.

How would I go about linking to the ASCII crd file in a new job in Access? I only seem to have the option of importing. I'm missing something ... Thanks

Hi Williwaw,

Jobs|Properties of job|Linked Files

here you can browse to other job files and also to ascii files (*.csv *.txt)
Coordinate order must match your setting in the Coordinate order field in the Units screen. (for ex. Name;E;N;El;Code)
More info in the help file under linked files.

greetz,
Christof.
