I don't need a surveyor to tell me where to put a fence!

Agree to it? Why would he have to agree to it? That foot and a half has obviously been under his occupation and control for at least several hours. Know your state laws, son. If not the surveyor, then who?

Actually that may not be far from the truth. When will the move come to attempt the same for PE's? Think of the savings to contractors when those site plans can go through Planning and Zoning with no PE stamp! Wait..Planning and Zoning they have to go too. Sarcasm aside check out the garbage I got (and some of you too i'm sure) from District 14. This is truly a sad state of affairs. Bodily services?

"Thank you for your email regarding PCB BCAS 11-01 (HB 5005) or Deregulation. As you are aware, this bill which repeals licensing and examination requirements of interior designers, telemarketers, travel agents, home inspectors, geologists, dance studios, mold inspectors, community association managers, and others passed my Business and Consumer Affairs Subcommittee. Our committee heard from numerous lobbyists and professionals who made very solid arguments both for and against deregulating in the various areas.

While I agree we need to deregulate some professions to make it easier to open small businesses, overall I believe the bill goes too far. There are some professions within our state that must be regulated that made the list. Regulating these professions helps to ensure the public’s health and welfare are protected. During our committee hearing, I offered two amendments that would have restored persons responsible for providing bodily services and Community Association Managers back under regulation. However, my amendments were not accepted. Therefore, I could not support this bill in its current form.

As this bill moves through the legislative process for debate, I hope to work with my colleagues to address many of the issues and concerns brought to my attention.

Again, thank you for your email and expressing your thoughts regarding this issue."

I know, I saw the fence wasn't even completed, and I got a little scared there, on how the boundary could actually be completed - whew! and here I thought fenceline surveying was supposed to be easy.

How many times have you heard this one: A survey costs how much? I could put my fence up in the wrong place three times for that kind of money.

Hard to argue with that, really.

Yeah, that happens a lot...even better when they put the rebar back "right where it was", encasing it in concrete...now what do I do with a rebar with our # on it, half a foot away from the staked location...and I have been asked by the developer to set the pin, but it falls in the post.

(I read an opinion on this site that the moved rebar is actually the corner now...not making fun of that, but I would be interested to know how long the corner has to sit in the wrong spot to no longer be "wrong")
