my general office printer HP 9800 has been very very good to me. Lately, though, when I try to print to it, it just sits... the control panel message says "paper jam", but there is NO paper jam. If we mess around pushing buttons, it "might" spit out a barely useable print of the color pics for our FEMA forms. If we run the test plot directly from the printer it looks Perfect!
Does this sound like a corrupted driver? Ever have an issue like this? Got any tips?

Are you using a big enough hammer?
😉
Andy,
I have an inexpensive HP 2200 series printer/scanner. It went through a period a few months ago of doing something very similar to what you just described. It started working fine again, but I noticed that the printer was installed again in control panel with the (Copy 1) beside the printer name. I must have reinstalled the printer and forgot about it trying to get it to work. If I use that printer installation, the printer works just fine.
Try uninstalling and then reinstalling the printer, and see if that works. It might not fix it, but then again, it might.
Good luck
