Is anyone using one of these for data collection?
What type of software are you using.

Basically I want a cheap data collector and software bells and whistle free. Just something simple to record angles and distances with for download in the office.

Suggestions are certainly appreciated.

Y'all have a great week! B-)

The Problem with that IMHO is that Ted Kerber is no longer with us. I spent countless hours on the phone with Ted in the late 80's early 90's when he developed his stuff (D'zign) for the HP48sx (not the GX). He seemed to be a night person, always awake in the wee hours. I would talk with him at 4-5 am eastern time and he was in California or Colorado. I thought he was best..... RIP.

Jeff Moog has been around calculators for a long time and wrote some great stuff for the HP-41.

Ralph, Ted was

one of those guys that only slept for 2 or 3 hours a day. At least, that's what he told me. I don't know if his software is still for sale, although the web site is still operative.

Yes Jack, I can vouch for that he was very patient with me and always gave me his time. Ted was an Ace Heavy Construction Surveyor and once wrote a book called "Tunnel Surveying Techniques". He was an early HP Pioneer and knew their calculators inside out. Nice guy to boot.

:good:

I agree, Jeff has a good handle on the hp data collectors/calculators and the coding to make the software.
