I have an HP 33s I keep on my desk. Years ago, when the rumor was they weren't going to let you use the HP 48 on the PSM exam, I bought 2 of them and loaded a Cogo program on them. I keep one in my truck for quick, simple calcs of stuff I might need and one on my desk for the same. Anyhow, the numbers on the keypad on the one in my office are coming loose. I was wondering if anyone knew where to get these fixed or if I simply toss it in the trash and get a new one (I don't think you can, didn't they discontinue the 33s?). I don't want to get a new one b/c that means sitting there hand entering the program again, but I will if I have to...

"Fix That Calc" guy seems to be out of business and I don't know where else you might try.

I would highly recommend a HP 35S which is more powerful than the 33 and I believe still available. There was a series of articles in one of the Survey magazines with programs for the 35s or D'Zign has some good programs for it.

Yes you have to key it in. It took me about 3 one hour sessions over three days to key in the D'Zign programs but I am very pleased with them.

I agree with Tom. I bought a 33 for the lsit exam, and it is such a horrible design, that I bought a 35 for the ls exam. I am actually surprised that you haven't accidentally deleted all your programming already, as it is easy to clear ALL when you just want to clear the screen with the 33.

If you want a calculator for the exam, get a 35.
If you want a calculator for your desk, get a 48, 49, or 50.

I had a 33 which quicky up and quit. I bought a 35, used it on all my tests and it's my daily calc. Recently inherited another 33 from some departed Const techs and the keys are loose on it too. Keeping it for emergencies.
