the I-Phone compass. Has anyone tested it?
Sometimes under 5 degrees, other times it can be off close to 100. If you calibrate it using the figure 8 method as it shows on the opening of the screen, it works better.
Thanks, I was mainly just curious and my first inclination was that it couldn't be real accurate.... but you never know
as accurate as the compass on the android
have you downloaded the metal detector app?
No, I just got the thing and stumbled on the compass function. I wasn't in a hurry to use it, just wondered if it worked. I've heard of the metal dectector app...does it work?
i used it today - while performing a soil test
the contractor had well worn steel toed boots, so i called up the app and the phone sang when I held it over his exposed steel toes.
then it was silent when i held it over the shovel.
i would not use it to look for bounds. anyone would look foolish on all three of your four waving your cell phone around the ground. i'll be there in a real pinch...
would look foolish on all three of your four waving your cell phone around the ground
or spinning left and right with the compass function trying to get an azmuith.;-)
